Ambulance donated by Impala Platinum

A helping hand for health

Impala Platinum recently announced the sponsorship of an ambulance to the Kanana community, situated near to its new No. 16 shaft at its Rustenburg operations.

This project was identified from the Integrated Development Plans (IDPs) of the Rustenburg Local Municipality. The Mayoral Outreach Programme also recognised this project as a community need, due to the high accident rate on the Northam road.

Tina Malau, Impala Sustainable Development Manager said, “At Impala we believe that it is our responsibility to assist our employees and their families to live and work with pride. Through this donation, which forms part of our Socio-Economic Development Plan, we acknowledge that responsibility and re-emphasise our commitment to providing better health care to the communities in which we operate and where our employees and their families reside.”

A further R500 000 worth of clinic equipment will be donated to the Kanana and Luka clinics. This will be under the guardianship of the North West Department of Health ’s Rustenburg Sub-District.
