The Impala Football Club
The Impala United Football Club was formed in July 2008 and is managed by the Impala Sports Training Academy. The team which consists of 29 senior players and 300 junior players, all Impala employees and members of the community, is coached by Brendan Silent, a former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana midfielder.
The senior football club is currently campaigning in the provincial Vodacom League while the junior team competes in the SAFA Junior League. The club hopes to eventually gain promotion to the prestigious Premier Soccer League (PSL).
The club’s working committee is currently in talks with SAFA regarding the training and development of coaches. Four assistant junior coaches, one junior coach and one senior coach are being developed by the club. 16 teams from the Impala operations participate in the Impala League.
