Impala Rugby Club
The Impala Rugby Club is highly involved in the development of local talent. In recent months a very successful coaching programme has been presented to some 45 teachers and administrators from the surrounding area. The club also intends to identify talented players from the Platinum Region (previously known as the Bushveld region) in order to further develop these players’ potential. Currently the region comprises the U/12, U/15 and U/17 Platinum groups who will all be coached to compete at provincial and higher levels.
Impala is the official sponsor of the Impala Rugby Club where currently 37% of the membership are black players who participate at all levels of the sport. The Impala Rugby Club takes part in the Pirates Grand Challenge (boasting four senior teams, one U/21 team and one U/19 team); the Leopards
Neser C (with two senior teams) and the Lions League (for junior members from U/12 to U/18).
